How to Clean Your Toy Safely After Intense Play

At bound BY LT, we take safety, hygiene, and aftercare seriously especially when it comes to toys designed for more intense or edge-play experiences. Whether you’re an experienced user or exploring something new, it's important to know how to properly clean and care for your toys to ensure both your safety and the longevity of your gear.

While all our products are designed with quality and durability in mind, some scenarios particularly those involving clamps, impact toys, or pressure-based play can lead to small abrasions or even minor bleeding. It’s nothing to be alarmed about, but it does mean taking extra care when cleaning your equipment.

Post-Play Hygiene: What to Do If Blood Is Present

In the event that bleeding occurs during use,
please follow these cleaning and care steps:

1. Clean the toy thoroughly using Hibiscrub (or an equivalent antimicrobial skin cleanser).
2. Wash with warm water and mild soap to remove any remaining residue.
3. Allow the toy to air dry completely in a clean, dry environment for a minimum of 48 hours.
4. If bleeding occurs ONLY USE ON ONE PERSON

Why This Matters

Cleaning your toys correctly after any contact with blood is essential not just for hygiene, but to prevent bacteria from developing on surfaces that will come into close contact with skin again. Letting the toy dry fully ensures no moisture remains that could harbour bacteria or damage the material.

Taking these extra steps supports safe, consensual, and enjoyable experiences every time.
